I'm sorry but I really couldn't resist the title for my post on re-visiting the Augustinian Monastery and the
Mendelianum, the museum dedicated to Gregor Mendel's discovery of genetics. We were a little
disappointed by the maintenance of the grounds the first time we visited, the greenhouse where he made his discoveries is no longer standing. The museum itself however is worth a visit and has a book where you can see which seeds Mendel ordered (he had very neat handwriting!) along with some instruments he used in his other interests of meteorology and bee-keeping.
