

Brihadeeswara, also known as the Great Temple is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was build during the 11'
th century. It ended up being one of my favorite temples (and I saw a LOT of temples) because it is not painted in the style of most South Indian temples (like a cartoon on acid) and while the other temples I visited had a wonderful charm about them, I really loved the austere nature of the red stone.
